The History of the Brewery
The direct predecessor of the Budweiser Budvar Brewery (Budějovický Budvar n. p.) was the Czech Joint Stock Brewery founded in 1895 by the brewer August Zátka, directly following up on the historical tradition of beer brewing which can be traced back to the 13th century to the time of the town’s establishment. In 1922, the first Artesian well was drilled
and the brewery has won a source of high-quality water co-creating the excellent taste features of the original Budweiser lager to this day. In the period between the two world wars, the Czech Joint Stock Brewery became known even abroad. Its era started to be significantly marked in Slovakia in the 1970´s directly on the Cintorínska Street.
Now
We followed up on this tradition now, bringing the Budweiser Budvar back to the Cintorínska Street. A completely new “Budweiser Budvar” restaurant is now located in the renovated old historical building from the end of the 19th century. We managed to bring to Bratislava the first ever
Budvar drawn directly from high-capacity tanks. It is the first beer house with such beer offered outside of the territory of the Czech Republic. The quality of the tank beer is unique because the beer is unpasteurized, drawn without using CO₂. The beer is stored in an original cellar with stable temperature throughout the year. It is drawn into glasses with “nostalgia” beer taps to the so-called level, creating homogenous thick creamy foam.
What to conclude with?
I surely have tons of fun at bar,
when I drink ten glasses of Budvar...
